Boone is a 6 year old German Shepherd who had crippling hip dysplasia. After a total hip replacement, a typical 6 month recovery period was drastically shortened to 3 months. He has returned to normal activity and his x-rays reveal strong bone growth around his implant. We firmly believe the success of this speedy recovery is due to being in good shape and taking the gelatin supplement for support of strong bones and connective tissue.

- How is the gelatin supplement served and in what amount?
Great Lakes Gelatin Protein supplement should be sprinkled over wet or dry food. For best results it must be taken twice daily!
We recommend the following dosage calculation for total daily protein requirement. Multiply .33 x body weight = total daily amount in grams of gelatin to take.
Example: 50 lb. animal x .33 = 16 Grams. One rounded tablespoon is equivalent to 16 grams of gelatin.
This should be divided into 2 servings, 1/2 tablespoon serving in the morning & 1 in the evening. Remember, it should not be used as a meal substitute. It is intended to be used as a protein supplement added to a well-balanced diet.
- How long will a bag last?
Great Lakes Gelatin Protein supplements shelf life is 5 years. Bags are available in 3 lb., 6 lb. and 10 lb re-sealable containers for small, medium and large dogs. Since calculations are based on body weight, a 3 LB. bag for a 50 lb dog should last approximately 80 days.
- How long will it take before I notice results?
For best results, it should be taken continuously so it may take up to 3 weeks to see positive results. You will notice an increased level of energy, alertness, and readiness to do more as a result of the animal’s body feeling better. Great Lakes Gelatin Protein builds lean muscle, strengthens ligaments, tendons, cartilage & bones. Based on a good balance of amino acids which create a unique natural protein for your animal’s well-being.
